Thank you for visiting us at Sibos 2017, a major event that took place in Toronto, Canada from October 16 to October 19.
Financial institutions, solution providers and Fintech companies from around the world attended Sibos 2017, with over 8,000 attendees from 149 countries. 3,000 people, or around 37% of the attendees came from the Americas, 29% from the EMEA, 20% from the UK/Nordics and 14% from the APAC region. 187 companies were also exhibiting at the venue this year: 81 financial institutions, 91 solution providers and 15 Fintech companies.
More than 250 sessions on the overarching theme "Building for the Future" were organized in 4 main streams: Banking, Compliance, Securities, and Technology, discussing topics such as industry trends, cyber security and artificial intelligence. Just as last year, sessions regarding cyber security and AI, Blockchain/Distributed Ledger attracted attention among delegates. On the Blockchain topic, alterations of the business processes and migration issues were discussed rather than the technology itself.
SWIFT announced to invite participants in gpi (global payments innovation), which combined with its service-in, API integration and future plans for additional features shows a steady progression toward expansion of use.
NTT DATA Getronics at Sibos 2017 in TORONTO
Co-exhibiting with the NTT DATA Group, we designed our booth around our corporate colors blue and white, as well as, on the side, life-size pictures of Tony Kanaan, an Indy car driver sponsored by NTT DATA, and an Indy car.
[Open Theatre]
NTT DATA Getronics has been giving Open Theatre presentations since 2012 and this year marked our sixth session in a row. On the third day, NTT DATA Getronics held a session in collaboration with one of our valued customers, Mr. Devashis Das, Joint General Manager, Global Cash Product Office, Global Transaction Banking Department, at Mizuho Bank, Ltd. as well as Mr. Atsushi Masuda, head of FSI Business & Vertical at NTT DATA Singapore Pte Ltd.
They shared what they see is the "state-of-the-art" Host to Host Connection model and the latest enabling technology that lies beneath the model.
The session attracted many delegates and was well attended, despite being held on the third day of the event at 5 p.m.
