Thank you for visiting us at Sibos 2016, an event that took place in Geneva, Switzerland from September 26 to September 29.
With over 8,300 attendees from 158 countries, it was the second largest event after Sibos 2010 in Amsterdam with over 8,900 participants. 73% of the attendees came from the EMEA, 14% from the Americas, and 13% from the APAC region.
More than 270 sessions on the overarching theme "Transforming the landscape" were organized in 4 main streams: Banking, Compliance, Culture, and Securities. The importance of cyber security was emphasized throughout the event, and Fintech related words such as "Blockchain" and "DLT (Distributed Ledger Technology)" were often discussed, although in a more laid back fashion than last year.
NTT DATA Getronics at Sibos 2016 in Geneva
Co-exhibiting with NTT DATA Group, we designed our booth around our corporate colors blue and white, as well as pictures of Lac Leman (located between Switzerland and France) and the Rhaetian Railway, listed by the UNESCO as a World Heritage Site.
[Open Theatre]
NTT DATA Getronics presented an Open Theatre session this year, for the fifth time in a row. On the last day, NTT DATA Getronics held a collaborative session with one of our clients, Mr. Daisuke Kamai, Head of e-Trade Product at the Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi UFJ, Ltd. Mr. Kamai presented the available transaction banking services for corporates as well as a future strategy. Then Mr. Minegishi, General Manager at NTT DATA Getronics, gave some insights on the necessary IT technology to support their future evolution. Even though it was on the last day of the event and the same time slot as the Big Issue Debate, the session attracted many delegates and was well attended.

On the second day of Sibos, Pegasystems Inc. and NTT DATA Getronics announced that NTT DATA Getronics is now a registered business partner of Pegasystems. NTT DATA Getronics will leverage the Pega technology to develop solutions for Japanese financial institutions that help streamline complex processes, lower costs, and improve customer experiences.
