NTT DATA Luweave Exhibited for the 22nd time at Sibos 2024:
the Swift community's largest international financial event
Event Report
Sibos 2024, Swift's annual global finance event, was held in the Chinese capital, Beijing, over four days from October 21 to 24, 2024. Following the two events held digitally due to the COVID-19 pandemic, from Sibos 2022 in Amsterdam onwards it has been held in consecutive years as a hybrid event both offline and online.
This was the 22nd time NTT DATA Luweave has exhibited at Sibos since it took part in Sibos 2000 in San Francisco with the expansion of its commitment to the Swift community. Since Sibos 2009 in Hong Kong, it has exhibited jointly with NTT DATA. This year's Sibos, held at the China National Convention Centre in Beijing, attracted 10,194 attendees from more than 160 countries. Of the attendees, 85 per cent were onsite, 15 per cent were online, and 52 percent were participants from APAC countries. In the exhibition space, 132 exhibiting companies and more than 40 fintech companies gathered.

Established in 1978, Sibos is an annual event for the financial industry organized by Swift, the global financial cooperative with more than 200 member countries worldwide. Sibos brings together representatives from the world's major banks and other financial institutions, central banks, clearing houses, and IT companies to discuss the latest trends in the financial industry.
At this year's conference, over 250 sessions were held featuring more than 500 speakers in discussions focusing on the main theme of “Connecting the future of finance.” The main topics included G20 objectives to improve cross-border payments, cross-border connections between real-time payment systems, migration and adoption of ISO 20022, consistency and harmonisation of regulation and supervision, financial crime countermeasures and fraud prevention, AI, quantum computing, transitioning to T+1 securities settlement, tokenisation, and digitalisation of trade finance.
■Our presentation on key initiatives
On October 22, the second day of the exhibition, we presented at the Exhibitor Stage in the exhibition hall on the theme of address structuring, which is a challenge when fully utilizing ISO 20022 messages. Co-hosted with Mizuho Bank, the presentation was well attended and was received as a concrete solution to the impending system change.
Presentations at the NTT DATA Group stand included topics such as AML and compliance trends, Swift API, ISO 20022, and global payments.

Sibos 2025, which is to be held in Europe, is planned to take place for the first time in Frankfurt, Germany (at Messe Frankfurt).
NTT DATA Luweave is the only Japanese IT company to have exhibited consecutively at every venue since Sibos 2000 in San Francisco.
